The original was of the whole flower when I was shooting at the gardens by the Indianapolis Zoo. I wish more of the upper petal were in focus, but this is a reminder to think before I take a few snapshots.

To me, this is begging for a border, but I suck at borders so I'm open to suggestions.

Basic editing with the exception of Nik Efex Tonal Contrast/Glamour Glow

Edit: The blue is indeed water.

I like the striations in the petal. Interesting composition.

It's neat that there is no reflection of the yellow in the water. The blue makes the shot for me.

I agree with your focus remark, but the colors and composition makes this very interesting to look at.

Good subject and color. I think this would work better as an abstract.

The colors on this are fantastic! The yellow, blue, and black, work together quite nicely. What is the blue anyway...water? You're right about the upper petal, it would be stronger either in focus, or totally blurred. The hint of sharpness on the edge makes it feel like an "oops" (nothing personal, just an observation). Very good control on the exposure for the lighting you had to work with.

Border...hmmm, I might try a wide white border that would let the colors jump out even more.
