Thanks to Molly and Kim who graciously got out in the cold and the wet to model for me. (The ghost is I!!!)
Yep I like this shot. Taken in the alley by the Campus Post Office (had to crop out a sign). I expect to be punished a bit for the crookedness of the wall...the wall is actually crooked. Original was lit with a sodium light or something, it was incredibly yellow even with the tungsten WB, so I had no choice but to convert to B&W.
Edit:
•B+W conversion, increase red and decrease yellow
•Straighten -2.1º
•Crop (to be minus "Campus Post Office <--" sign, lol)
•Adjustment Layer -- Levels
•Increase contrast and a little bit of brightness
•Resize
•USM, rather a lot
•Save for Web (which I shoulda done in the GIMP but was pressed for time...)
Prediction: oooo, I don't know. 5.5-ish?
Dream: Oh, you know, one of those big numbers that rhymes with "eleven"

Just got a blue shirt, so felt the need to add an outtake.
My DPCO team was less than enthusiastic.
Sitting around 5.78 at the moment. |

great idea but eye-contact with very healthy looking model somehow spoils the mood. good luck - 6 |

Powerful image, though they don't really look poverty stricken in reality. What is it, a Baylor shirt? 8 |

This one is really sad, more so because they're so young. I love that motion blur, a man moving past so quick he doesn't even notice the tired, starving young runaways, that's what this photo makes me think. Good contrast and the b&w makes it seem even more hopless. Nice work :) |
