 The sad thing is that I didn't dress her "special" or do anything with her hair -- this is how she looks at the end of the day. I did however rub dirt on her face -- she wasn't too happy about that. She was also sick, so that helped with the forlorn look. I have several of these, but in most of them, she was either smiling or "posing."

I had to go bw because the bright pink lip gloss she found right before i shot was pretty obvious.

The shed in the background is the same on in the recent "accidental letters" challenge.

converted to bw in DPP, adjusted contrast in PSP and lots of clarify (just to aggravate nshapiro).

No children were harmed, aggravated or traumatized in this shot.

I gave this an 8. It has a real depression-era feel to it that I find very effective for the challenge, staged or otherwise.

great subject, and some of the toning is beautiful, but part of her face just looks too processed.

This is a very good photo that I scored well. Excellent in B&W. Two comments- I can't figure out if this was 'staged'. She is such a darling girl and in a way I hope it is staged. She is so cute, yet the eyes are so sad...

Technically, the twig or something out of focus in the left is a minor distraction. Nice work.

This is a great pic and I won't be suprised if it wins this weeks challenge. Everything from the expression and dirt on your models face to the clothing is perfect. If I had any criticism at all it would be that maybe the background is a little too blurry on the right side.
