 Yes, it is a zoo shot. :) If I could get up before dawn, there is a rumor of some deer hanging in the 'hood, but I would have no idea where to find them.

We had been planning to go to the zoo, anyway.

It was a gray sky, so it wasn't hard to do a white background. Alan will make my day if he suspects the background has been removed (so, Alan, if you are reading this. . . . .)

Can I spell zoo? Yea. Pretty well too. You'll notice I did it with no assistance in the photog's comments. (That answers a question that a commenter asked me during the voting; that question is no longer there. ???)

As far as context or natural environment. I was looking straight up at him/her. Sky is all I had and the day was a lovely shade of gray.

I might have liked this a wee bit more if it were rotated slightly. It's quite a pleasant, comical shot, along with the title. Very cute and the crop is good. I like that the background is blown out, makes his tan colours stand out more.
