CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
Compositionally, I like this shot. The full bowl of fruit balances nicely with the pieces of peelings on the right. I also like how you have chosen to crop/frame the shot so that the entire bowl isn't included -- this makes it feel more dynamic to me.
Technically, I like the clean-ness of the shot. It seems a bit bright or high key, and on this monitor, it makes it seem as if some of the details are not as visible. The result is then that those spots look "soft" or unfocused. This is especially true on the inside of the peelings, and the parts of the peeling left on the fruit. It also has a slight pinkish cast to it, but that could be this monitor.
Overall, an interesting idea on the challenge, and a well done shot.

A basic approach to the challenge, but good. Maybe a touch on the high key side for my preference. |

Seems a bit soft in the focus. Higher aperture might solve that. |

Nicely shot! I think that the colour concentration on the orange coloring could have been upped a bit, but I love the double meaning here in this shot!!! 8 |
