This is the same candid as the color version (below), only converted to b&w and lightened.

For this shot I held my umbrella in one hand and practiced focusing on the jostling crowds with the other! I ended up with with many blurry photos.

This has been cropped. In PP I increased the light on her face and darkened the shirt of a person behind her. I also fooled around with both sharpening and noise reduction. It was pretty dark, so I shot at ISO 2000.

Love the grain and the hint of rain on her chest. And the reflections. Has a sort of expectation feel to it - like she sees someone she's going to meet. DEFINITELY better in B&W.

2000 thousand ISO! My D40 gets grainier with 800... : (

I like the stream of light on the street...in BW it ties in with her skin and wet gleam on her chest. She seems to be in a rush and this is accentuated by the feeling that she is just about to walk past the picture frame.

Good focus and clean at the 2000 ISO. I like the B&W best as well.

I like the expression and the capture. The graininess/whatever around the face and neck make me think that you must have had to pull this out of an underexposed image even at ISO 2000.

I like the b&w better too, I love the expression on her face (I don't know why, but she reminds me of Taryn Manning)

Her expression really makes this photo stand out - B&W is perfect - the rain on her chest - the sense of movement made all the more evident by her hand position and her earrings swinging - wonderful on many levels.

edited for spelling

Love the moment. ISO 2000, wow! I head the D300 was a marked improvement in ISO performance... but wow! the D200 would be completely unusuable at that ISO... incredible!

I have a few thoughts but I'll tell you next time I see you in the hood. Cheers!

Very clear capture. I vote for the b&w, too.

I think the B&W works very well, somehow better than the colour version. I sort of imagine she is looking to hail a cab or something.
