This is a wild fox that lives on the grounds of Missouri Botanical Gardens. I had heard that they had foxes living there but have never seen them. I went there with my daughter for a walk and I finally got to see him. He is really small and had that owy on his shoulder but it didn't seem to phase him at all. Despite being wild he is used to being around people and actually got so close to me I had to shoo him away since he was to close to my infant daughter in her stroller. I have some picks of him stalking a squirrel and frolicking around. It was definitely very cool to see.

It had been a hard fought battle. Attack and counter-attack. Bite and counter-bite, claw and ... you get the idea.

Todd glared at his rival as he lay on the ground against the tree, his wounds on fire, but his spirit untouched. With one final growl, he leapt back into battle.

A short time later, limping badly, Todd walked off toward his den, knowing that Vixey and the cubs awaited. This time, he'd won the day. How many others may claim him?

That looks like a nasty sore on its shoulder - in the wild, or at a rescue centre? Either way, I hope there is a happy outcome.

For me, it looks like the colors have been pushed way past their limits. But, I love foxes - they are my spirit animal guide.

This is very nice. It's good to see an image of a Red Fox who appears to be doing well -- so many of these beautiful creatures are hit by autos and end up along the sides of our roadways. It's a sad commentary on our native wildlife. 9

Looks like a bad wound on his shoulder, poor thing. Lovely shot, great DOF.

oooo -- I like this! The overall tint is a little bit blue though (which is fine if you intended that!). :) I just noticed he looks wounded, though! :(

Great subject. Great composition. I like the focus and DOF. Maybe you've gone a little wild with saturation, but I'm colorblind, what do i know?
