I just saw a show that told about how these Monarchs migrate every winter to Mexico---over 2000 miles -awesome !

Yep... Free studies are difficult! This should have scored higher, no doubt about it. Look at the Avg Commenters vote! :) Nice! I have this lens and love sooo much! Good glass can really make a difference.

Nice detail and color. The orange of the Monarch and the purple of the aster are a nice combination. Bugs and flowers sometimes get underappreciated because so many of us choose them as subjects. I tend to appreciate them more because I know how hard it can be to get a good one!

Ah those free study challenges are hard. This is such a beautiful shot, it definitely deserved more recognition. The colours are absolutely gorgeous, and the focus is superb.
I saw a tv show about the monarchs' migrations, too. Incredible that things that look so fragile can make that long trip. And the numbers of them was staggering.
