| This is more abstract than voters are probably giving you credit for. I think the emotion comes from the abstract composition of lights and darks as much as from the subject matter. In fact, who's to even say any of it comes from the subject matter? We don't know how he's feeling. Well done. |

| I see and feel the emotion here, but the image is not abstract. I can't give it a high score for this challenge. I'll go half way since you went half way. BTW I really like the image -- the subject, the texture, the composition, the light, and the b&w conversion. I wish you had entered it in Free Study. |

| I have a hard time seeing this image as abstract, although it is interesting to capture emotion on an animal. |

You're breaking my heart on this one. This is a gorgeous animal portrait, beautiful expression, delicate lighting that works brilliantly in black and white and the contrast between the silky hair and the roughness of the background is just fantastic. In a free study it would be an instant 10, but I'm just struggling with the abstract angle on the shot as it the very directness of the image that gives it it's power.
But ignore me and this challenge - for crying out loud just get this into a major exhibition, get it published, just get it out there where it deserves to be. |
