 This big critter was below my deck today and the bug had the misfortune of wandering by when I was looking for a photo subject. :o (does that make me a bad person?)

The beetle actually got away just a second after I got this shot, so I don't feel all that bad. Just unscrupulous. :P

I used my SB600 mounted on the camera (all on a tripod) and I was shooting roughly 6 inches from the spider.

I love the angle of this shot -- you don't usually get "Bug Macro" shots from the underside! :) And the photograph itself is fantastic all around--great sharpness, particularly! I'm thinking this is either a 9 or 10 :)
