 I bought some fruit for the challenge - trying to use the viewers familiarity and tones of the grays and blacks as a direct metaphor.

Editing: Levels, hue/saturation, selective colors, curves, noise ninja, USM at large radius, crop, resize for web. Noise Ninja, USM, save.

Great strawberries. The bananas are a little too lost in the background for my taste but I really love the contrast between the strawberries and the oranges. Very good "colors"

delicious! good sharpness and b/w conversion. the undefined gaps between the fruits at top and in the right quarter take away from the image, though

I think a tighter crop on the strawberries would have looked nicer since they have such great detail.
