 Wapiti bull pauses from the battles with competing bulls in the safety of the river stream. His harem of 50 cows had safely crossed the river before him and the competitive bulls were downstream behind him. It was safe enough to take a relaxed drink.

A more shallow dof might improve this image and make the elk (?) stand out more. Nice work, nonetheless!

Doesnt meet the challenge in my opinion. Where is safety involved here? Please read the challenge description.

I fail to see how this represents 'Safety'. It seems more like a risk to me. What a beautiful place you must be in to see a creature like that. I wonder how many people even know what a 'Rut' is.

First off, this is an excellent photo. Nice and clear, and I do like the colours, though I believe the brown could have been brought out a bit more to make the animal stand out.

I'm not getting the concept of 'Safe' though.

Safety? This is over my head. I always thought such animals were most vulnerable when they go to the river to drink.
