Terrific capture, has great balance. Not sure of the safety side of it tho. 8 |

If I remember correctly from Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, isn't the dude about to get eaten alive? Bummer. |

Considering the outcome for the male this may have been a better fit in the Risk challenge. :D |

Funny title, in that the female praying mantis eats her mate after doing the deed. The pic is really rather vivid. In this challenge, I feel it sort of doesn't fit. Not necessarily DNMC, but I know the poor schlub is going to be eaten so safety is not what I think of...RISK would have been a better home. |

...and just seconds later she bit his head off - oh the irony of it all. |

Ironic title, the female mantis will often eat their mate! |

Back to comment and bump: You've found a humorous title to fit an image into a safety challenge that really doesn't relate strongly to safety. For that, I am going to give you a bump. According to the histogram on this image, the tonal range appears to be concentrated to the dark half of the histogram. A small bump of the midtones using a curve layer will both brighten and improve the colors of you image. Feel free to send me a PM if you need a better explanation regarding curves and the histogram. |

Just before he gets his head bitten off LOL!
A good capture considering there isn't much variety in the colours.

I think this is more in the "risk" category. ;^) Excellent photo. |

Good photo, but if the prating mantis are mating... the females is eventually going to kill the male. |

I was expecting some shots like these featuring people, this is certainly a different take! Nice focus and colours. |
