| I gave this an 8 during voting. I love it. The ripples in the water, the star effect (which says what I know about things, apparently- :) ), the detail of the rock and birds... just so beautiful. The saddest thing I think is this is a 14th place image with a 5.8 score. Oh well. This is a wonderful image. |

My best shot from the Long Exposure challenge is going into the FS! Mostly because of sensor dust and not being able to get a straight horizon in the dark! If I figure out any secrets I will let you know :)
The bird in the light is a nice touch. |

| The shape of the lighthouse would suggest that this isn't in the UK - did other countries have Fisherman's Friend lozenges? The beam from the lighthouse reflecting on the water in such an understated way takes this from the mundane into something t=far more interesting. Nicely observed. |

| What's a friend - the light, the island (but at first I thought it was an alligator in the water), the birds? What - I'm not a fisherman. Ok, let's go with route - what's the 'Safety' item in this photo. Ahh - the fisherman MUST be in a boat so the light is helping to avoid running into the island when returning to port. Is that it? |

Cool. Composition is good, lighting is good. Nice visual interest with the lighthouse and the birds on the rock. Too bad the lighthouse wasn't a bit brighter, but what are you gonna do in Basic.

| I'm not sure if it's the low light or what but the sea kinda looks like milk! Nice idea, I like the perspective of being out on the water looking at the lighthouse. |
