During voting: Not sure if many people saw this one the same way as I did: with an added theme. Wasnt my favorite entry anyways, but something to learn from. I hope I get more comments (already got one: thanks!:)

Post voting: I remember this DPCer's words (I think it was 'Ecce Signum') that the first few challenges with a new camera will be a disaster. I confer with that now. Thanks for that advice.. I have a lot to learn:-)

This one made me stop, look and think. On DPC, as far as voting goes, that's not always good for score, but score is not everything. A picture that makes me stop and think is a good one, in my opinion. I like the angle you chose - it suits your title and what you were trying to convey very well, and adds "life" to an otherwise static display. In general, statues and such don't often score well (though they can - it depends). In my universe, I often like more - more picture to tell more of the story, but bearing in mind we have only limited pixels to use here, your crop is good. I think the only thing I can see that may need work is the bluish fringing around the upper child's head and along the back of the girl. I suspect this is due mostly to the lighting conditions. Check your original to see if any was added with the brightness/contrast adjustment, then watch for that in the future if that was the case.

It's not clear to me what exactly's going on in this photograph. It's bronze statues, but what are they doing?

Fits challenge=5
Color/lighting=0
DOF/focus=0
Wow factor/uniqueness=0
Attractiveness=0
comments: Fits the challenge but your overblown background makes it hard to distinguish what is happening up high. Sort of looks like the person is holding a ladder but can't tell what is really going on. Good luck on the challenge.
