The QM2 was berthed at Pier 92 for the week, I was lucky enough to get into the facility to get an unobstructed view. No matter where I shot from, I could not get the whole ship in the frame. This was shot at the widest angle of my zoom (28mm).

lucky you to have gotten it...did you get to tour?...it must be something else. Like the perspective of this shot very much...shame you could not PS the murky waters...such is life.

I would have liked to seen a smaller boat next to it.

nice snap .. the small dingy behind brings out the proportion beautifully ..

Very nice... well-composed photo shows proportion really well. 9

If you would have included the tip of the nose, then I would have given you a point more.

Briiliant curves and sense of scale. I'm always scared of missing bits off my subject but the cut off bow here actually adds to the impression of size. My only criticisms are that perhaps the hul could be made darker/more contrast as it is showing a lot of noise.....how about comparing before and after with NeatImage?....hope it's a top-scorer for you

Spoooky, my husband is watching a documentary on this very ship right now as I vote, LOL! Great shot, would have liked to see the rest of the bow (is that what they call the front of the ship?)

awesome shot...wanted to go and see this ship myself...would have helped if you had a human or something else for scale reference...great shot for this challenge nonetheless!

Was this taken in NYC? I would have been there but I was at work. This is a great shot showing proportion with the tugboat on her side.
NICE

only something huge with no comparison does not show proportion very well ...
04/28/2004 04:12:30 PM
You have nothing to show proportionality.

Decent framing of the subject matter but it lacks impact due to the washed out colors and lack of detail in the water. That thing coming up behind the ship and the structure at the right are visually distracting.

Impressive. It might have been even more imposing if you had cropped the water out so the ship was just against the sky. Definitely a great representation of "Huge" proportions.

Good picture, although the sun is a bit to strong (the background and the top of the boat is maybe too bright. You get a good impression of the proportion of this huge boat. (7)

Yes.. huge.. but you should have done some level adj, it seem its a bit too luminecent.
