Playing around with things i found in my kitchen. I guess i have seen a lot of IreneM's photos lately. Maybe i should start a long term therapy with B/W photos (ANSEL ADAMS, MAN RAY, HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON etc etc). :)

I used one SB-800 in manual mode, reflected into a white umbrella, to light the scene.

the bright primary and secondary colors provide wonderful punch to the shot - but i just wonder a bit about the choice of focus - the water droplets on the front of the first tomato seem to be screaming to be in focus even more than the stem - still a 7

I see this one in the top 20.

Love the red and blue colour ranges in this. My only tiny nitpick is I'd have liked either the sharp point further forward so it includes the front of the tomato, or the DOF extended so the front and the stem of the tomato are on focus (but everything behind it not) I hope that makes sense :-)

All in all, this is very nice though.

I like the contrast of the colors. My eye wants to see the shine on the front of the tomato in focus, but I see that you focused on the stem, which also would have bothered me to see out of focus. Maybe a slightly larger depth of field could have captured both parts, while still allowing the background to be blurred

You say tomato, I say 7

My eyes are drawn to the light shining off the front of the first tomato and that's the bit I want to be crisply in focus. Nice composition.

Cool picture, I think the fact that the front of the tomato is slightly out of focus is a little distracting, otherwise one of my favorites!
