Funny how some comments said it did not fit and I should have moved the coach in the white shirt and the referee. I know it is a stretch, but, those two guys were "unmoveable". I think I shoul dhave gone for the DOF challenge and a tighter crop. I had fun, regardless.

To much comotion. would have been better if it was a staight shot to the subjects.

Great photo! The figures on the sides lead you right in to the photo. :).

The Ref in the way makes it hard to see the subject. There is too much clutter in the foreground which makes it hard. A clear shot of two players would have worked, but the players are too hard to see clearly here.

This is a bit crowded for my taste, but I guess it would be pretty hard to get a clear shot.

Can't quite connect 'acceleration' with 'immovable'. Good luck.

I'm not seeing immovable here. Looks like everyone is in motion. The white shirted person on the left, is very distracting.
09/13/2008 07:06:56 AM
good idea, just wish it was a tighter shot on just the two players in the center

The image is spoilt by the space taken up by the person in the white shirt.
A shame really as the compositon and DOF would have been great otherwise.

Shot would have done well in DOF iv. I find the left shoulder distracting, perhaps some cropping would have changed the effect.

I like how the focus is mainly on those two grappling kids, the DOF stops there being too much else to concentrate on.

I don't like this shot. The focal point is lost because there are just so many people crowding the foreground. And I don't really get a sense of the immovable here either.

I'm not sure what's immovable here but good detail and colors!

Good idea. Technically a sound image, but way too busy even with the framing that the coach and ref provide.

I am curious as to how this Immovable?
09/10/2008 09:25:50 AM
The foreground is distracting, blocking the action.

Physics provides cruel reality for the ball carrier. I love that both player have their eyes closed in anticipation of a crushing blow. I only wish that the foreground elements were not there so that we could focus on the action. Momentum and inertia are cruel truths of physics. Nice photo

The picture is very busy. There is a lot to look at.
09/10/2008 08:20:27 AM
A tigher crop getting rid of the white shirt on the left is better
09/10/2008 08:16:55 AM
I like the physics.. not so much the photo.. the shoulder in the left makes it seem like a snapshot (3)
09/10/2008 03:39:18 AM
A closer range, a bigger zoom would greatly improve that picture. Right now one third of the photography is a white tshirt.

never played american football (even though the foot hardly touches the ball, yes i'm from the uk lol)... but i can imagine its like trying to move your way through an immovable object,, so i can see where your going with this..
09/09/2008 11:08:34 PM
A bit too busy. I feel the perspective this was shot at hurts the image as far as demonstrating 'immovable'.
09/09/2008 09:34:09 PM
Decent shot, faithful colors. Somehow the shot is missing an aesthetic appeal.

Great idea, and nice to see something other than a person pushing on a building/rock/etc. Unfortunately, the crop doesn't work for me... the foreground is way too distracting.
