 once again i thank my willing model ScooterMcnutty for helping me with this shot. pretty basic here, she stood in the back yard while i shot from the deck. in lightroom i adjusted the white balance and the clarity, in PS i adjusted levels and hue/sat

09/14/08 1:05pm[using the new ability to add notes during voting!] this has been a roller coaster, shot right up to a 6.43 in the early voitng, got as low as a 6.19 currently at 6.36 which ties for my personal best,as with all my shots i only hope to beat my pb.

Post challenge:
well i was really hoping to get a PB in this challenge but it was not to be. I have no complaints though, I've never had a shot that hung in at a 6.4 for that long and i have never had a shot where every comment was great and people favorited it during the challenge

I like the point of view. Someone once said, "show the viewer what they expect to see in a way they don't expect to see it".

I love the clarity that you've managed to capture in the eyes and the colour is stunning, although I find this more impactful rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise. I think it's due to the eyes not seeming to engage me fully as they are.

i really thought i'd commented on this excellent photograph .. but it appears that i hadnt ..
I LOVE IT ..!!!.. its the most excellent use of shallow dof .. a very compelling image and something that should most definitely grace a wall in your home .. sofia is a wonderful model .. so natural and elegant .. this is more than perfect .. :)x

Oh Darn! I was hoping to see this one on the front page :( I think the composition is awesome. She looks like she is poking her head right off the screen. Congratulations on achieving your 2nd highest score with this photo. It is beautiful. Sophia should be very proud.

This is really beautiful - can't believe it didn't finish higher. A few people may have found the red flower a bit offsetting. Her eyes are mesmerizing, and this capture the shallow DOF theme so well!
