 The Image: This is a Porcelain Doll my wife Helen made from scratch. It was in her craft days before she became corporate.

Took this using a macro and window light

The Edit: USM, Levels, Gaussian Blur, Noise Ninja

The Prediction: 6.2424

Post Challenge: This was a TOTAL surprise, not only was I way off in my prediction, but I never expected to even be in the top 10 let alone 4th...I got the shock of my life when I saw this! Thanks everyone!

My only regret was that I wish I edited this at home and not at work. Though I have the same 24 inch Dell screen at both, for some reason the calibration at work is so much darker and I can't figure it out, so it ended up being a lot lighter than I wanted.

In any case, I am almost 0.4 behind the ribbon winners, so it wouldn't matter.

I am so glad this did well!

Congrats on a beautiful photo, and great finish in the challenge with this shot! I think that the edge softness in the hair and the delicate pastel tones may have hurt this in voting a little. I like it just as you posted it.

Congratulations on a good score, but I gave this a 10 because it was just so lovely. Don't regret the lightness, it is just right for this delicate portrait.

ok this isn't just you I've been saying it to everyone... what a creepy challenge this is! So that aside ;) Nice shot. I like the soft colors, dof, tight crop, probably the best you would do given the subject matter.
