**Critique Club**
My first impression of this image when it popped up was "looks pretty good". Had I voted this one, I probably would have gone along with the crowd and given it a 5. I'm kinda surprised you got so many 1,2, and 3 votes, but that's DPC for ya. :)
First, the likes. I like the lighting a lot and I think the pose works quite well. I think the tilt of the head is just perfect. If I were shooting this (note: these tips might not necessarily increase your score), I would have moved the doll to the left and toward the camera a bit to give the shadow more room and presence in the shot. I don't think it looks quite deliberate enough as it is. The shot feels pretty static as well with the face being almost perfectly centered.
Some things I think would improve the score: Get rid of that pesky sensor dust. Either clean the sensor or clone those bad boys out (which is legal in basic and advanced). I think it looks sloppy, and I know I (and probably others) vote down for it. For me, it's really all about attention to detail. Also, I agree with one of your comments that it could be a little sharper.
Overall, I like it. With a little tweaking, I think the score could have jumped a ways as well.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks,
Nathan |

I'm afraid not to vote. Looks like she'll be coming to see me if I say anything. Out of fear, I'll rate 10! |

I like the shot although its a little dark and the midsection of the doll seems to lose some detail. The shadow seems to compete with the doll just a little for attention. |

I wonder if getting closer with a wide angle lens might not give this even more impact. Nonetheless, a good shot. The face is a little soft? |

I think the shadow wouldn't be so distracting if the doll were held a bit closer to the wall so the shadow would outline the doll instead of acting as another subject. |

Light's a wee bit harsh on her face and top of her hat. I'd have gone with a more interesting background. Her colours are nice though. |

I'm finding my eyes are more interested in the shadow than the doll- I'm not sure if that is what you intended but its an amazing shadow; really interesting - (I don't deduct points for this= but just so you know that you have some dust-spots on your lens (left of the frame; and somewhat towards the center) -- its a lovely doll I'd like to see it cropped differently tho to pull my interest into the doll and the shadow created by the doll... |

I think it would have looked awesome if it weren't for that shadow. good job though, nice lighting. Try using a diffuser next time, it should look even better. |

I think you could have made the shadow an even bigger part of this shot. The shape is very interesting! |
