Yes, I'm not keen on the yellow either, but I still voted this one of the top of the challenge. Well done! You could play snap with Alain on this one. :)

People love owls. I have to say though, I still hate that yellow. Hate it.
Congrats though :) |

Not a big fan of the uber-contrasty selective desat here. The yellow looks incredibly unrealistic. |

Nice one Andi. Was this at Banham? Well done for not oversharpening the plumage. I'm in two minds whether I prefer this to the full colour version though.
I haven't given you a score as I know it's you but if I did it'd be at least a 7 or an 8 :-) |

Excellent detail and the desat works pretty well here. |

Given the abundance of owls in this challenge the processing of this one has made it stand out, the selective desaturation has been done well and doesn't feel like it is a gimic |

Very clear, great composition. I don't like the selective desaturation, though. Giving this an 8, if it were all in colour I think it would be a 10. |

i understand the reason for wanting to emphasize the yellows, but i am not a fan of selective desat in this case - i want to see this awesome shot in full color |

What were you thinking?! Surely you could have cropped this better or turned it green or something?! ;o) You know I love this shot, it works so well with the selective desat thing ;o) And I just realised...this fellas 'eyebrows' remind me of a guy I know ;o) Added as a fav and voted you a 1 :-P
Just kidding, no vote from me ;o) |
