 Per Wikipedia: The term "lemur" is derived from the Latin word lemures, meaning "spirits of the night" or "ghosts". This likely refers to their large, reflective eyes and the wailing cries of some species. I wanted to title this "Spirt of the Night" but knowing how literal voters can be, I didn't want comments about how it looks like daytime.

I couldn't decide which version of this to use. This is cropped from a larger image; I liked the composition of the original but felt for most voters the lemur needed to be larger in the frame. I also have another version with more dramatic post-processing, but decided to go with the more natural one and let the chips fall as they may.

How cool is this that you got a score of exactly 6 for a challenge? And in a free study too - awesome. I love the lighting and the eyes really jump out of the photo. The color in them is beautiful. Congrats on a new PB!

He's cool! Love the pose! Great capture, but I wish the stray branch wasn't obscuring his right hand and leg. Aside from that minor nitpick, this is a great image.
