 Took a shot of a tree trunk suffering some form of disease. Shot raw. desaturated. Rotated, Adjusted levels and contrast. Applied 5% warming filter. USM. Saved for web.

I love this one. Some might say it could benefit from a bit more contrast--I find myself going back and forth on that: there are no shortage of high contrast images in b/w photography in general, and this subject has so many subtle mid-tones that I think it is probably best just as is. Who am I to question your vision anyway? The nerve I would have, if I did so!!

Perhaps one of the most abstract of the abstracts in the challenge, yet has a great use of tone and form. Simple complexity.
