That is Pete....and heere is the story behind his photo:

I was very fortunate to be invited to the Local Horse rescue farm here in Galveston, Texas. Habitat For Horses is an organization that rescues abused and neglected horses in the state of Texas.

The place is a horse heaven. The people there really care for these animals.

When I arrived to the ranch, I was welcomed with open hooves. These animals were everywhere. It was feeding time and they gathered around the barn to eat. Just imagine having over 100 horses around you walking around like pedestrians in downtown.

I was in amazed how friendly these animals were. They kept checking me out with my big o'l telephoto lense. At times I had to take out my wide angle because they kept coming to me .

Needless to say, I petted lots of horses that day and left with over 12 Gigs of horse shots. (it was hard picking one shot)

I used to fear horses, with this visit I was able overcome these fear. I had plan on taking photos from afar with my telephoto, but found myself very close to the horses.

Each with their own personalities, they managed to help me overcome the fear I had since I was a little boy.

I see myself visiting the Charity often and doing some photography so that people become more educated about horses and if it prevents one horse from being abused, then my time was worth all of my efforts.

better if you had captured a sharp eye, otherwise traditional shot

Beautiful horse. The white face stripe is striking. Slight CCW rotation would help.

great colours, appealing subject, but the cropped-out ears leave the horse looking incomplete.

Lighting a little too harsh. Would prefer a little more detail in the shadow area & lesser blown highlights
