 Didn't think I'd enter the Horse(s) challenge since I'm hardly around them and don't know much about them not to mention how to photograph them. Then it occurred to me on Friday that I live less than 2 miles from one of the premier horse racetracks in the U.S. -- Arlington Park. I stayed around for 3 races with this being the last. I was pretty disappointed with most of the shots except for this one.

I'm sure there'll be more than a few racing shots, most better than this one, but the one thing I really liked about this was how the three horses were so evenly spaced and they pretty much fill the frame. This is my first member's challenge and I would be very pleased to finish in the top half.

I shot this in raw and did all of my color adjustments in Digital Photo Professional before converting it to jpeg. From there I used GIMP to rotate and crop, both ever so slightly, burned a few highlights, and cloned out a hot pixel. Resized, USM.

I dont like to vote low without a comment, so I'm going to tell you, why. The colors, the clarity and the composition just dont work for me.

Might be just a bit overexposed. Also needs a little faster shutter speed.
