Great idea, and I like the clouds in the background.

I'd have liked to have been able to see the horse's head/face and also all of the hind feet - I feel that where they are cut off/cropped is awkward. Having the head/neck with similar lighting to the rest of the image might have helped.

OR, based on the title, shot/cropped in MUCH closer on the hoof being worked so the emphasis is consistant with the title.

I am finding that my eye drifts, trying to find the focal point of the image - I'm drawn to each of the white socks

Like the idea â B&W also works well. Not so sure about the manâs pose and expression â he does not appear very much interested in ânew shoesâ for the horse.

There's something about this that looks surreal. Maybe it's the fill lighting that does it and that dark cloudy sky. Lovely big horse. Looks like a Percheron cross.

Too bad you couldn't have made the horse look towards the camera. Lighting seems a little underexposed.
