Males have one spot on the wings, females have two spots.

nice contrast and scale. The butterfly shows just how tiny the blooms are.

Some of the comps I work on, I wonder if I took it to the limit, or did I stop at 'safe.' I've clicked on this comp more than a few times, & slowly come to wonder what would it look like with even less of the BG info? Just the 3 blooms & the white, in all that black space. Forgive me for editing your comp, if only in thought.

Excellent. I have been photographing these guys on my Verbena, but now I can stop. Love the colour, the light and dark and the composition.

The middle flower is really well captured. Butterfly adds a nice touch. Almost looks as if butterfly is on one side of a flower see-saw.

Looks like a Cabbage butterfly; very common here. You captured this one nicely, along with the verbena. The purples really stand out well with that dark background.
