 A strong series of storms moved over Flagstaff, encouraging me to drive to the overlook at Mars Hill, just outside the entrance to Lowell Observatory. Daytime lightning photography is exceedingly difficult. I shot one photo every ten seconds so I would have the consolation of a time-lapse series of the storm if no lightning shots came out. I clicked the shutter at each flash of lightning, but none flickered long enough to show up. Fortunately, when pressing the shutter for one of my time-lapse shots, a strong cloud-to-ground bolt lit up the sky.

I used hue & saturation to increase the magenta saturation while shifting it a bit toward the blue.

Great Capture.

Would have liked to see some Post Processing on this image, give it a little more purple and darken the image. A darker sky and the bolt a purple colour and you would have got much hgher marks from me.
