appreciate a subject that is not simply superficially pretty - too much form and very little content otherwise on this site - but this is still not a discovery in the sense meant by serendipity, which points to discoveries which become part of general knowledge

This is an interesting shot although not as emotionally compelling as the title would suggest. It could have used more detail in the mid-range values and perhaps more careful framing. I don't see how a discarded loveseat expresses the theme of serendipity or anything about homelessness for that matter.
