I didn't recognize your marsh! Oh dear. Must be time for a re-visit. Nice expansiveness to show off the approach of the storm.

Following up on my comment:

I'm sure that my comment didn't help much, but just wanted to pass on how I was feeling.

Perhaps the fact that it moved me to comment at all says something.

I don't know what it is about this photo, but I just don't get any sense of belonging out of it. Many times, if I see a landscape like this, I can feel like I'm there, but in this one, I *feel* like I'm just looking at it on paper/through a screen. Problem is, I can't place exactly why. There's depth, yet it still feels flat.

Maybe it has something to do with that overly bright spot in the reeds along down from the cloud line... lens flare of some sort? It sucks me in more than the surroundings.

Ahhh heck. This is just one of those times where nothing I can say is particularly helpful. I just don't like it on a personal level.

This is really a cool capture of a moment in time. It's been wet here too and the sky has been similar to what you captured - I find this photo very captivating.

The clarity of the image, the details, focus and DOF, the composition and balance contained therein and the juxtaposition between the ominous skies and the plume of white clouds, all of these demonstrate a keen eye and an attention to details. This image speaks to me in whispers and tells me that one Bear_Music submitted this.

Very nicely done.

How sweetly you captured the darkness and the light rain.
