This challenge, being my first one, had been bothering me for almost a week. And then I had this idea in a dream. Be kind, as this is my first try at something totally unfamiliar - it was not an easy challenge to start off with! :)

i just stumbled across your 'folio, and read through the comments here. while i do agree this could have been a slightly better photo technically, and you have obviously improved greatly. i am stunned by how rude some people are. just to let you know, i like the image. the shallow depth of field works well, but i agree more context would help - as a still life it's a bit empty.

Is this the best you could come up with for the challenge? 1

An interesting idea, I'd like to see more context for the photo - is this a bed? Maybe set it on a bedside table instead. The DOF doesn't seem to jive well with the composition - I'm not sure where you'd like my eye to go. I like the color choices though - the blue background with the red wrapper is very snappy.

Nice colors. Given this is a still life (or should it be called a "no life?") - I feel everything in the image should be sharp. Better lighting could have made a dramatic differece as well.

Opened and seemingly used condom is eally not in good taste...also out of focus and background is wrinkled.

nice composition. is it better to use the ripped open pack instead of new one? just my thought

in my opinion you should have greater DOF and less lighting to get rid of the hot spots on the condom wrapper. the wrinkles in your backdrop are also distracting.

So Johnny must have had a good time then ;)

Although I have a pretty strong pro-"condom shot" bias, I would have liked the whole shot in focus. Congratulations on a nice non-mainstream way to address the challenge.

Keep it up!

Well, at least you didn't add hand lotion to complete the effect...
