First favourite tree!

To answer some questions - it's VERY tall - can't say how tall will have to get further advice - GRIN!

As for flowering - it has these very cool (and bloddy spikey!) pods:

They drop in the bazillions and probably drive the neighbours mad - they hurt like crazy if you walk on them - SMILE!

A scene fitting from a story by Edgar Allen Poe! I am waiting for the raven to appear.

This is simply amazing. If you manage to keep this tree theme going (and with such variety) for 30 days, you will have earned my greatest admiration! I think it is amazing so far.

Darkly mysterious.
Would fit a Gothic novel.

Very moody.

I found some of those pods on the sidewalk a few months ago and shot them for a challenge (which didn't do well at all). When I was researching it then, I was finding people calling it a Liquid Amber tree.

They tell me this is a sweetgum tree. Or maybe a sycamore tree. The spikey seed pods take gold spray paint very well & look kind of interesting on a Christmas wreath. I love the way they stay on the tree & how they look against a stormy sky. No photo can quite capture that feeling as I look up at them, or down at them amongst the leaves, but this is a very close second! Love that stormy sky!
