Do you think Chlorox would have helped?

I hated destroying the image of such a magnificent specimen but I wanted to find out what was in the Filter's draw of Photoshop. Played with the Liquify Filter. Wanted dripping blood but ended up with more of running paint. Can't complain for my first attempt ever. Felt pretty good about the way it turned out. But like I said. . . it went against the grain.
No wait. . . it went against the flow.

Ha! Cool and clever. Maybe add a little more shadow around edges of the dripped part pooled at the bottom to give that depth and, er, believability?

This turned out beautifully and no dahlias were harmed... Seriously, the dahlia is still a dahlia, and the geometric transformation only calls attention to her structure. Beautiful red, happy composition, and no band-aid box.

its a brilliant photograph and i love your processing ..
i googled chlorox, thinking it might'v been some hallucinogenic substance .. lol .. but was surprised to find its a household bleach .. so in answer to your question, i dont think chlorox would'v helped one little bit .. and anyway, i dont think it needs any help ..
love the vibrant colours and the centre of the flower, so contrasty .. excellent the way you've 'bled' it off .. great approach .. i dont think i'll be needing anymore drugs, i'll be getting my fix daily from your images ... lol ... :)

I really really like this. I love gothic art, dark and mysterious, vibrant reds... this fits right in my genre.

Okay... creepy! I really like the grey gradient background against the deep red. This one could actually pull off the centered composition if you ditched the green leaves in the background.

Very, very cool.

Whoa! "Sunglasses required' warning needed here.
:-))
This is a delightfully imaginative interpretation.

What a fun experiment. Good thing about digital, you can't really 'ruin' it if you keep the original. Just make different versions till it strikes a cord with the artist.
Good Job!
