Generations
I've had the idea of shooting a dandelion in the bottom of my for a long time now after seeing "Breaking Free" by FranziskaLang. So while finishing a run today, I saw some dandelions and picked a few and carried them the short way home. I first took some outdoor shots, then indoor, and then thought of silhouetting them. The title is supposed to mean the generations of seeds produced by one dandelion.

Grayscale, contrast/levels, neat image, background blurring, unsharpen mask, border.

The light is diffused by a normal piece of printing paper. A lamp is behind that, givining it the circle of light. Taken with my Sony Mavica, macro, in a studio type of setup.
I thank you all for you comments and votes, this a PR (Personal Record) for my highest finishing and highest scoring image yet, very exciting.

Nice sharp details.Simple composition yet the details make it really interesing. Lighting works with the subject. The circular shapes works in harmony with each other. Contrast is excellent. "10"

Awesome photo! How did you difuse the light to capture this shot? A true unity of theme photo and title!

This is so elegantly done. A difficult capture and well worth a 10.

These dandilion 'pods' have fascinated me since I was a child. I still occasionally pick one up and give it a 'puff' and watch the seeds float aimlessly in the breeze. Excellent work...

A great idea and a nice composition. The background for some reason seems a little unatural to me. I like your visual perspective.

It looks like you have artifacts/halo on the stem due to slight over-sharpening. Strong composition but I don't think your subject matter lends itself well to silhouette because the seed head, even though in silhouette, would not look much different, well lit with soft light.

I love the angle and also the circle of light falling on the backrdrop. There is some wonderful texture in the backdrop too that is blurred out just perfectly because of the DOF. Great composition too.

beautiful ... does not seem the right time of year for dandelions though ;-)
