This silhouette is hauntingly beautiful. What an appropriate title. |

The background distracts from the silhouette, should have used smaller DOF. If you would have had her turn her shoulders and head more to the right and hips to the left, you would have gotten a darker dress and more detail in her face. Right now I feel really sorry I can't see her face! |

Nice composition and use of light. I am not entirely convinced that here face is so dark in the original picture, but if I´m wrong then kudos to you. Nicely captured, good choice to use b&w. |

I think this is a true silhouette - well, I think it definitely fit's the challenge. Quite a beautiful and arresting shot - though i'm impressed that the bride allowed you to muck about getting arty farty shots (though it would make a lovely momento of the day - and i assume it was The Day for real, right?). Lighting is wonderfully great. The background is a little bit cluttered for my personal taste (perhaps it might work if the background was subtley blurred a little more?) but i still want to give this a 10 because it's just so good! well done you! |

I'm not sure this really works as an image, it is somewhat shilouetted but I think the fact that you cannot see the girls face really hurts this shot. Perhaps it would have been better to show her profile so we at least get some idea of what she looks like. As it stands I look at it and think 'yeah it's a shilouette, but why?'. It looks more like an accidental shot where the flash failed to fire. I hope you don't think that I'm being too harsh. Good Luck, Todd. 4. |

At first I thought, 'it does not work with (mainly) just the face silhouetted'. But then I remembered the bride is not to be seen before the wedding -- and it works. |

Weird treatment for a bride. Between the darkness and the "attitude" (as if she's lunging at you), it makes her look somehow imposing or evil. Maybe you have commitment issues..? (just kidding) :) |

This is a really beautiful shot but would maybe have preferred more of a profile shot of the face. Congratulations to the bride and groom!!! |

Beautifully done, especially the light through the veil. |

I like the image, the composition, just wish there were a tad more light on the face so we can experience with her, the look of anticipation on her face. Nice work |

Very interesting composition. I'm unsure if it is ever a good idea to hide a bride's face in dark shadow. |

I'm not sure that I see this as a silhouette - it strikes me more as a badly exposed frontal portrait which woujld be better with fill-in light to show her expression than it is with her face and upper torso blacked out. A beautiful composition though. |

I'm afraid you're stuck here....the subject matter/title/emotion requires us to see her face but then this is a silhouette challenge...it looks almost sinister at the moment...or even insulting as a wedding pic!! |
