 I have two trees in my life that I LOVE - one HUGE liquid amber in my front yard and this WONDERFUL blossom tree two houses over - that I look at all day every day from the living area of my home.

I ADORE the changing moods of not just the tree but the sky around it and am thinking I might spend the whole month of August photographing it - SMILE!

What would the trees be without their sky, the air? The color of the sky looks so metallic, so unreal, that I can only assume this is exactly what you saw. The vignette -- or spotlight -- effect (something I don't usually care for) serves the tree very well in this comp. Well done!

I am speechless... To think this is your first image for this month - I am blown away. This is a favorite, no matter what else is posted...

It has a "bonsai" feel to it, maybe it's the negative space. Did you get the sky color in camera or PP? Just curious...

The tree looks like you brought it inside against a textured painted wall. Love the feel of the shot and very very cool background. I Agree that it is a zen feel. Nice Job. Adding it to favorites!

My favorite, so far, of Day 1. That sky is marvelous and the composition is great. Very Asian in feel and very soft and happy and (from a midwestern US feel ... that's sort of a tornado type sky). But I'm not going to think about that because it is so pretty and appealing and happy too.

Love the unusual hue to the sky; makes this seem otherworldly and more fragile, somehow. The tree has a lovely open feel to it and very nice shapes in the branches. Looks a bit like it's reaching out in this composition.

What a great idea and a real challenge for you.
I am so looking forward to each and everyday with what you present to us.
This one has an 'oriental' feeling to it, and apart from being and looking like a flowering tree, the background and processing, really does add to the effect of this image, with the 'sense & feeling of the orient'.
Keep them coming. A feeling of 'Zen'.
