This was wildly underexposed. I lightened it in post-processing and tried to reduce the noise without over-smoothing. The photo is not at all sharp and is unlikely to score well for that reason, let alone for whatever other aspects people may not like (composition, expression...). However, something about it reminds me of an oil painting, and I like the ambiguous subject.

So, this entry fared poorly, as I felt it would. I'm glad a few people liked it, and it actually got less abuse than I expected.
I have to laugh at a few of the comments, like the one saying "she doesn't look very happy" -- did he miss the irony, or am I missing his? Or maybe "happy hour" isn't used in the UK? I also got a comment about cropping out the bottom of the photo, because a friend suggested the same thing before I submitted the photo, and I argued with her about it. Maybe I should have listened? :-D |
