While I was at the zoo I had an image of a picture I have seen somewhere of an elephant behind massive bars. It was B&W and I think had streams of voluminous light coming in. It was very melancholy and I did my best to duplicate it without a wide angle lens (I left it at home). Here I decided to do a really tight crop to increase the tension of captivity.

This may be my only attempt at beating my average this week and I'm not sure it's gonna do it. We'll see.

Lots of burning and dodging on this one.

Bonus points to anybody that can link me to that other photo, because I can't find it.

POST: A Posthumous! :) This is actually a bigger deal to me than ribbons at the moment! :) You love me! You really, really love me! (ok, that was in my best Sally Field voice) Plus bonus points for the man finding that picture. It was exactly the one I had in my mind.

Very nice departure from your comfort zone, Jason. I hadn't seen this before now. Well done!

Actually, Sally said "You like me..."

Your Freudian slip is showing... ;)

Nice emotion in this image Jason. Already in Eugene....I hope it is going well for you. Is the family with you too? Did you sell your home? It was nice knowing you were just up the street.....I still will enjoy seeing your images though.

A rare exception where I get a kick out of vignetting. Posthumous Yellow Ribbon.

This is the saddest elephant I have ever seen :( I like the image but I wish the eyes were not so over processed.

Imo the vignette is a little harsh - a smoother transition might have been nice. This looks nice in black and white though.

Nice picture. You find yourself immediately drawn towards the animals sad eye.

Great and moving image... Perhaps a bit less of the lens distortion?

Beautiful and so emotive! You are in my top 3! I love elephants and want to make this a favorite, but I don't know if I can deal with the saddness it creates on a regular basis.

Very interesting take on the challenge. I'll admit, it took me a minute...but once I got it, I GOT IT! Hope others do the same because it's an excellent and well thought out shot!
