 Just back from vacation - what a nice surprise! Thanks Don, for the soup, and thanks for the great comments from many of the photographers whose opinions I respect the most.

As surmised, this is a photo taken directly up, from beneath a ledge where a cat was curled up taking a nap - hanging her feet over the edge. Fill flash was used and processing was minimal - a b/w adjustment layer applied in multiply mode.

EXCELLENT choice for the posthumous award from you Don, as I also agree with everything you have said about this image. It made me laugh, and I also love the balance of the unusual composition.

The combination of the fluffy textured white clouds, against the blue sky, makes up most of the viewing picture frame, but with a mysterious cat thrown in for fun, just peeking above a stone wall.
