Duotone version of the shot I originally planned to enter as my Free Study for July, but changed my mind after getting another shot somewhere else (then changed it back). ;-)
Taken during the July '08 DC GTG organized by 21_F.gif Jutilda. I had been travelling since the beginning of the month - with the Calgary workshop and then a wedding shoot in southern California - but was so happy to have the opportunity to join this gang in DC upon my return. (Even though it meant only 24 hours rest.)
Jeff (21.gif levyj413) was so kind to "map out" the moon's phase and location for us - enabling me to get this shot.
Thanks to you both (Judy & Jeff) - and to the other attendees (21.gif scooter97, 21_F.gif MaryO, 21.gif NikonJeb, & 21.gif banmorn.
PP on this shot included: straighten horizon, crop, levels, selective/replace color, clone brush to remove some minor distracting elements and sensor dust/hot pixels, color sat, NI, sharpen, resize, save for Web. |

came to congratulate you on your free study, knowing you'd have something excellent .. hmmmmm ... seems i was a month too late .. !!..
amazing shot jimmy .. so dramatic and stunning .. the lighting in the building compliments the full moon so well .. your colouring is perfect, the subtle clouds across the moon, those excellent silhouettes .. WOW ..
6.3 isnt quite enough for something of this caliber .. :)

| This works well in black and white. Ideally I'd like to see the moon a little higher. Perhaps you could produce such a version after the challenge with a little copy and paste. |
