No special tricks, just lucky timing. I set the light bulb up and used a remote shutter release. This was the first attempt. The second didn't work and I didn't want to waste any more light bulbs after that.

How many light bulbs did you smash to get this shot??

Cool. The tool is a litle blurred. Don´t know if it´s out of focus (shallow DOF for fast shutter speed) or if it´s motion blurr. You porbably haven´t got many changes for repeating and testing. The capture of the braking bulb is great but as I said, the "tool" (dont know the english word for it) which is the main subject is not as good. Good experiment, continue that.

I like the concept, but I would have picked a brick or something other than a fragile light bulb.

Nice capture...but heaven help you if any of those shards are digitally rendered!

I like the idea, this would have been help a lot if it was a bit sharper.

Wow, the power to break a lightbulb :-)

Maybe lightbulbs are tougher where you live. Ours almost never need a pick to bust them!

would have worked a lot better with the hammer in focus. Nicely done overall .

nice action shot, but this is not really showing the strength of the sledge hammer or person you should have broken something stronger.6
