Maybe an explanation? The strength is found in the stone, not in the branches. Besides, in some aspects, growing plants are stronger then stone. The focus is on the fracture and part of the stone. The rest of the photo is less important and so I let it out of focus. I understand now that this didn't work at all. I hope this will teach me a lesson. Thanks for all your comments. |

Nice colors and composure using the rule of t3rds to get the focal point on the broken branch. My preferance clearly doesn't go along with most voters on the site yet I would like to have seen this shot with the largest depth of field possible. |

nice depth of field but surely this is weakness? |

This isnt strength, it is weakness. maybe a slighyly deeper depth of field. The flowers are a huge contrast to the forground and really hide it from view. |

in my opinion if you brought more of the picture into focus would have greater appeal for this shot. <8> |

Hum, where is the point of focus in this shot? The branch. I don't know that it's something of interest not a wow factor. Just my opinion. Also since it's shot head on we aren't really seeing this at a detailed angle along witht the lack of contrast. Hope this is helpful. Good luck in the challenge. |

I think in the context of branches, bigger would have been better. |
