I'm testing colour managed browsers, having installed Firefox 3. This photo has ProPhoto RGB profile tagged. Let me see how it looks, on a colour managed browser, vs a non managed one.

(edit -)
OK, the test works.....
If you see this photo as a dull desaturated grey, then your browser is not colour-managed. If however, you see very bright vivid colours, then your web browser you're viewing it with is colour-managed.

I'm going to view all my jpegs from now, including all DPC photography, on Firefox 3, for its ability to colour manage.

....My three girls, at the fire, on a cold day when we needed glowing logs to stay warm.

A followup post, mostly to Roz, Jess, Ken.

I dont think, by what you say, that the browsers you were using to see this photo were colour managed.
If you were to upgrade to firefox 3, and enable colour management, you'd see this become very bright and vivid, in colour, having ProPhoto RGB profile tagged.

And yes, Ken, one has to assume that much of the DPC population would be using non-colour-managed browsers, and therefore it is always safest to save your web photos in sRGB. But, if you want to see and use other colour profiles, then upgrade to firefox 3...........with no downside in the decision.

It's interesting to see them around a fire when it's about 100 degrees F here! Just reminds me that things are different an the other side of the world!
eta: I agree with roz, the colours are neither dull nore bright, more in the middle.

Nice family scene, and I like how they're all doing something.

I'm viewing with Firefox 2, which is assuming sRGB and it looks just fine with good color. If this is tagged with a different colorspace, does DPC change it sRGB? Just another though also, when posting pictures we need to keep in mind that that majority of viewers are using non-color managed browsers on uncalibrated monitors. It's probably best to assume sRGB for viewing.

Thanks for the link - it looks to have a lot of good info. And now I really, really need to upgrade to Firefox 3.

Beautiful beautiful shot! I agree with cfarrell, the expression in the mother's eyes totally makes this picture.

(using safari - colors are lovely!)

Such a beautiful way to spend a day. I love the affection shown not through physical contact, but from Mom's loving eyes. Very sweet.
