I had an idea of what I wanted from this. This is rural Iowa. Near a town called "What Cheer" - how awesome is that? I was positioned at the very edge of the shadow from the sun - metered on the roof which was the only neutral area. Post process it came out more startling than I had imagined. Why? Messing around with the great "black and white" adjustment layer in CS3. Tweaking the blue/cyan combo in opposite directions and the same with the yellow/green. Really had an infrared affect I thought.
I did what I wanted so I hope for a 6.241 - I'm thinking this will be a challenge with some great entries but I wanted to have the "weather" sort of in the shot to literally meet the challenge.

The title? Everything else sounded corny. I shot this without regard to conventional phtography rules - some conflict perhaps interpreted as cd.

Scored this well, but I don't really care for this much processing and some how the centering of the building doesn't create interest or cause your eye to explore the image. It is obvious that the building is weathered, but some of that is lost in the processing.

very bold processing - not sure i like it personally - but it does jump out at me and make me look - so....good work

Very dramatic lighting, very well done. Only thing that could be any better is the brightest light is just a little off center on the barn which is a little distracting (very little). other than that wonderful image. 9 from me

I like the tones used - very effective fore the texture and the background. The composition is a little static, but I still get the feeling of the barn looming over me - the point of view is excellent.

The angle and colour reminds me of ancient China.
