 Tonight was "date" night for Ken and I. After heading into a near by town to "reserve" (lay down a tarp and bricks) our spot for tomorrow's parade and getting dinner; we headed to the beach. This is a pretty typical place for us to spend our Thursday evenings together. Sometimes I think we have become beach photographer bums...lol

This is one of the many pictures I caught of Ken doing what he is passionate about, taking pictures. I feel like this picture has some sort of peacefulness to it.

There was some orange hallowing around the top of Ken's head. I did my best to minimize its nastiness.

Oh yeah, this was my first attempt at HDR.

Oops forgot to say sorry for the tilted picture. I didn't realize I forgot to check that before putting it out here.

This is a really good job for your first HDR attempt; many look really overdone and unnatural. The colors are saturated and capture the scene perfectly. However, that goofy-lookin' guy there is a slight distraction. :P

I think this turned out great!! It definitely looks peaceful, the colors are really nice. It's nice to hear you two make a night for yourselves, too often we all just get way too caught up in the hussle of life & forget to enjoy the little things like this.

totally beautiful amanda .. i could see the thumb of ken's photograph in our slice of life thread when i was looking at this as a thumb .. as soon as i saw both of the thumbs i thought of you guys ... you have the most excellent place to take photographs and you get the best images .. a wonderful sky and a great portrait of ken .. love the silhouette .. its a brilliant image . :)

It's very good.....one of the better photographs from our side challenge so far, for sure....not just a 'slice of life', but a very effective and aesthetic picture. Muted pastel colours, good composition, interesting subject. If I may nitpick, I'd have preferred the focal point more off-center, to the bottom left junction of thirds perhaps.
