I see you suffered some of the same sort of pro/con wrath I did with my crime scene challenge entry.

I agree that this is a top flight journalism photo. It always helps to be in the right place at the right time. Very well exposed, and you got a good typically smirky expression.

I will admit that my feeling about this man would likely have negatively impacted a vote I might have placed had I been in this group at the time. I hope it wouldn't have. Regardless of how one might feel about the this person, this is an excellent photograph.

Bye the way... you missed arrogance. ;-)

I gave this a 10. It was a great capture, well composed and framed, with him looking straight at the camera!! This man's face has a chilling effect on me, it makes me feel like the world is on the brink of WWIII. Great idea for the challenge.

I'd like it a lot more if he were 5% further away from the left of the photo! Good timing.

This is an excelent journalism or documentary photo. Your focus and clarity are great. The detail shown here is amazing. I like that he's looking right at you. while I it an excelent photo though, I see nothing of how this relates to wrath. I wasn't there so I would have no prior knowledge of what he was talking about, so I do not see this as wrathful at all. Pride and greed possibly. Your angle and framing/cropping are great, and the lighting conditions were perfect. Nice shot. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

This looks very professional. Its great. It might have fitted better in a politics challenge but it still fits this challenge in large number of ways :) Nice framing, and good photo :)

Don't believe it fits in this contest. Realize you are proud of taking his picture. And it is a good, crisp picture, but not for this challenge. If it fit the challenge it could very well be a 7 but considering the challenge all I can give it is a 4, and that's because it is such a good photo of him.
10/16/2002 01:55:00 PM
you know what's amazing? bush's hairlight. the light they've put on him to create such great separation between his head and the background. nothing but the best production values for the president :) . Anyway, hats off to you for the effort you put into this one. Sounded like quite an adventure! mag99

Cool, and he is looking straight at you. I like the irony of the Tn flag (Al Gore) behind Bush! the focus seems just a touch off, but hey, could be me. Awesome job. karmat

This is incredible work. It definitely meets the challenge. The expression, the detail and color are phenomenal.. You?ve captured a subject that will undoubtedly be controversial. You?ve also managed to be in the right place at the right time. Not an easy shot to pull off. ? Best of luck with this one ? 9 - Gotcha

I do not see an overt display of any of those characteristics. Now if you could have gotten a shot of Clinton, that would be a great one for llust. Zeiss

Great color! What's the flag in the background? Lucky? you, I've never been in the presence of a U.S. President. (But I did have Ford's signature at one time)

Seeing that you were able to get in a position to take this gives me an idea of how good some of the photographers I'm up against are. My experience with a (real) camera stretches all of 6 weeks!
So which is he to you? Unfortunately I live in the "rest of the world" where the latter is more applicable.
Nevertheless, an excellent photo. Well done.

I don't know if it was intentional, but the pole/rail that runs into the back of his neck gives him a puppet/inhuman look that works well with me. You caught a great expression... Extra point for a unique, fresh interpetation of the challenge :)

Interesting editorial to make people think.. the photo itself has good composition. However, the shot doesn't have much visual appeal for me. Might go nicely with a news article, but as a stand alone photo it just doesn't pack much punch. 4

Great shot. I love the intensity that you captured. What did you do to make him look right at you??? :) The photo is very well composed. You did a nice job of cropping him. He's in a good location, and none of his body is cut off through the crop. The angle that you took the shot at provides a nice background with some visuals... it looks like if you would have been more straight on for the shot, Bush would have blended right in with the background. Superb job - 10 - JB

Now I am wondering how you were able to get this close to Mr. Bush. I enjoy it so much because it it a shot I will never be able to take myself. Not a strong sin being committed here, but very interesting shot!
