Never realised the amount of imperfections on a light bulb until now..... You don't see till macro and backlit.

Got the idea from //www.instructables.com/

Took the shot after building it on the 24th. The plant is still alive and putting out new roots (29th). Going to see if it keeps going.

Back from a 2 month break. Hoping for a 6+ to keep my goal average on track.

Steps:

Crop
Levels
Hue/Sat
Some cloning
USM
NI
Warming filter
Cooling filter
A luminosity layer to lighten plant
Resize
USM
Border
SFW

Post:
Thanks for the great result. Scored better than I expected.
I wanted to clean up the image more, get rid of some more of the specks, but cloning made it look too fake and I wanted to be careful with the amount of touch up I did.
Planned to reshoot it on the Sunday with a cleaner bulb, but the 24 hour challenge popped up instead and I spent my time working on that.
Oh the plant ain't doing so well anymore.

Plant was just pushed through neck of bulb and planted with a chopstick.
I used a piece of match on a thread to hold it at that angle. Placed the match in the neck and where you see the metal curve at the end allowed it to be wedged in.

Entry fits challenge nicely ΓΆ€“ the dust on the light-bulb is a bit distracting.

Cool stuff inside a light bulb makes for good photography. That's just how it works! The top edge of the bulb is pretty toasty, but no big deal.

Clever image though I've seen same/similar a few times.
With the advanced editing allowed here, the small specks all over teh glass should have been cleaned up - would score far higher in my opinion.

nice homage to the lightbulb/plant shot - i like the angle of the bulb - i just wish the line in the background were not there to distract

Since this was advanced editing rules, I think I would have worked on the spots on the bulb a bit more. I like the reflection and the idea very much.
