Thanks for all the comments.
about the picture
The picture was taken the same day the gay parade took place in Jerusalem.
Almost every year we have the same argument in Israel, should there be a gay parade in Jerusalem? one side saying that the gays have every right to parade just like any other citizens and the other side saying that a gay parade in Jerusalem is an insult to all three big religions and should not take place in the city of god.
Last year I took some picture of the gay parade and this year I decided to go and take pictures of the orthodox Jews demonstration (they were both happening at the same time, in different parts of the city.)
The main guy in the picture is a bit of a weirdo and all the kids were chasing after him (I think he is a bagger), he was trying to get rid of them and sometime he spoke or cursed at them. The funny thing was the language he used which was very old Hebrew. I think the guy thinks he lives in king David time.

What on Earth do people want? 18 votes below 5 for what is something so superior to virtually everything that has scored above it in the challenge. No, it isn't the crispest photo in the world, but comeon, look at it people, and tell me that you don't want to return to it again and again and explore every face and peice of social interaction? This is a photo that has affected me more than nay other I have seen on DPChallenge. |

Outstanding image. It draws me in, makes me want to read it cover-to-cover. It's reminiscent of the great jjbeguin crowd-shot of a few years ago, though of course it's completely different. But it has that same quality of the single face in the crowd sucking you in irrevocably.
My only problem with this is that it's not quite sharp enough, crisp enough. Still, hell of an image. |

Remarks: an utterly wonderful and captivating story. Title provides context without diminishing the mystery. -The subject's expression and demeanor is absolutely riveting, btw. |

The way you have made only one man stand out in the crowd is perfect, also the expression you captured makes it even more interesting. Hard to get a crowd shot that has one point of interest, well done. |

An intriguing story here. The one gentleman, so obviously different than the rest, very focused, very intent on where he's going. The stares and glances from those younger. Uncertain, perhaps. And the very glaring lack of females. |
