***** post challenge *****
Guess I should have titled it "Barack Obama"? :-) Maybe toss "Hillary Clinton" in there for good measure? He-he.
The concept was that Obama, the black King, triumphs over Hillary, the white queen, with a successful campaign. Their very powerful & successful spouses observe from a nearby spot in the game.

Hehe, sorry, Barry. I really did think it was a whiterook. I wouldn't have scored it DNMC, but the technical deficiencies to me are the yellowishness (word?) and focus placement and composition. A for effort and clever concept though. :) |

I didn't vote in this challenge, but (since you asked in the forums), without the title I see this as chess pieces in various stages of falling over. With the title I see this as a metaphor for Barack Obama falling over, i.e., being defeated (possibly after having defeated Hillary Clinton).
Forgetting metaphors, it's a nice photo of the black piece falling. The piece really stands out thanks to that lensbaby. |

Impressive that you captured the tilt of the piece. |

The concept here is pretty funny- the joke may be more obvious if the king and queen pieces were more obviously king and queen for non-chess players. Very funny. |

I wish the left side wasn't blurred. |

I'm struggling with the symbolism. The white queen is down. OK. The black king is falling? Or just leaning over to watch her go down? |

The focus seems a bit odd, I like the tilted piece. |

Neat photograph, I don't understand the title though. |
